Materials and construction

Everything in the line is built from a short list of fabrics we know how to repair. Here is what each one does and where we use it.

Shell fabrics

FabricWhere we use itWhy
1680D CORDURA® ballistic nylonCore packs, duffels, briefsThe most abrasion-resistant fabric we can sew at this weight. bluesign® approved and treated with a PFC-free DWR.
X-Pac® VX21 sailclothX-Pac editionsA four-layer laminate with a polyester X-ply grid. Waterproof face, dimensionally stable, roughly 30% lighter than ballistic nylon.
ULTRA® 200Ultra editionsUHMWPE ripstop with an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio. The lightest technical option in the collection.
ECOPAK™ EPXSelected colourwaysMade from 100% recycled post-consumer polyester with a solution-dyed face and PFC-free construction.

Liners and structure

Interiors are lined in a lightweight ripstop nylon in a high-visibility colour, so a black cable does not disappear into a black cavity. Laptop compartments use closed-cell foam suspended above the base of the bag, with a false bottom that keeps the device off the pavement when you set the pack down.

Hardware

Care

Spot clean with warm water and a soft brush. Do not machine wash, do not tumble dry, and do not dry clean — solvents strip the DWR finish and delaminate coated fabrics. Re-treat the shell once a year with a PFC-free spray-on DWR if water stops beading.

Warranty

Zippers, buckles, webbing and stitching are covered for the life of the bag under the terms described on our warranty page. Fabric wear from normal use, and damage from airline handling, are repaired at cost rather than replaced.
